Cuckoo wrasse, Plymouth - April 2024

I am seeing more of these parasitic isopods on various fish species over the last year. It may not be a good sign on the health of our seas.
This small female cuckoo wrasse appears unharmed by its hitch-hiker, despite the gruesome appearance of its passenger clinging on.
